Social platforms are built to capture attention, but most do not natively connect the value a user creates to the products, merchants, and economic outcomes that content influences. In fashion, inspiration, wardrobe planning, media creation, shopping, attribution, and creator compensation live in separate systems, so everyday users rarely participate directly in the value their content helps generate.
Approach
01
I started by reframing the product around a simple question: what if a fashion post could be more than content? I mapped the value exchange among users, creators, merchants, and the platform, then defined the core loop: add what you own or want, create a look, publish it, connect it to products, and let the resulting engagement become measurable commerce activity.
02
From there, I designed Rock This as a mobile-first closet-to-content system. A user's wardrobe, wishlist, shopping discoveries, personal reference images, and AI photoshoot controls all feed one creation workflow, so inspiration can move directly into a personalized image, video, soundtrack, remix, or post instead of ending in disconnected tools.
03
I treated attribution as product infrastructure, not an afterthought. Products can be linked to posts, merchants can be connected to demand, and creator activity can be separated across discovery, attribution, and commission eligibility. I built the social, commerce, credit, moderation, and admin systems around that distinction, giving Rock This a credible foundation for merchant programs, affiliate earnings, future creator payouts, and repeatable user and business value.
